what about the reolink trackmix battery wifi? with the 12 watt panel?
That setup is good too.
How do the Ubiquiti cameras compare?
I still have to revisit these cameras. I checked them out a while ago and they are expensive.
@LifeHackster yes but they seem to be coming out with more competitive options now. They also sell a NVR starter kit
Remember that ring allows law enforcement to back door to the data and facial recognitions.
If you let them.. well thats what Ring is saying.
@LifeHacksternope. Warrantless access to the data. RING now shares data with AXOM and FLOCK. For vehicle and facial recognition and tracking. And wait till you look into Amazon sidewalk.
I wonder if lifehackster will be at ces 2026. I’m really curious as to what we will see from reolink next year.
I love your channel and watch many of your videos! Quick question: is there a home security system that can register my family’s faces and only send alerts when someone not in my family is detected?
I know eufy with homebase 3 has this feature. Thanks for watching!
Lifehackester, Sir have YOU ever had an issue with Reolink? Their customer service is horrible at best, we have tried calling them for days, being on the phone for HOURS waiting for someone to answer the phone, never got an answer.
I haven’t had any issues with Reolink cameras that I have to call or contact customer service. Sorry to hear you have issues.
Eufy’s new mobile app is goddam awful.
Why move buttons around when we’re all used to the location of everything.
And the buttons are now tiny!
I’m done with Eufy after all of the crap I’ve had with cameras just failing to load half of the time.
It’s not my internet or router either, I have 2Gbps fibre with WiFi 7 mesh around the property.
Tapo seem to be ticking all of the right boxes lately and I don’t need rich notifications so when I move, that’s the way I’m going.
Kinda surprised that non of unifi cameras made it to the poe list.
I did check them out long time ago but they are on the more expensive side compared to Reolink.
Great work as always! Thank you!
I replaced all my Ring stuff with ReoLink, and a Eufy E340 Doorbell (I love that dual camera). All my ReoLink equipment is POE, and overall I’m very happy with the new setup. The only grip I have, is the lack of animated notifications like Ring has, that’s probably the best feature ever.
I agree on the rich notifications. Some of Reolink cameras have it but only a few.
@LifeHacksterI did some looking, evidently they won’t do it on the POE cameras. The logic is that the people who use the POE cameras are heavier users than normal, and the costs are to high.
for the paranoid and wimps 😂 😂
Like you watching 🙂
It’s been a while since I’ve checked on the channel…I’m happy to see you are still going strong. Hello from up the road in Bexar County.
It’s surprising that Reolink didn’t manage to send you their new TrackFlex floodlight to be reviewed in 2025. I’m really looking forward to what Reolink will be showing and announcing at CES 2026.
The release date was moved to 2026 on this model.
@LifeHackster Thanks for the info. I saw a promotional video on Instagram where one lucky influencer had it installed to their home. Must have been a tester then.
Why don’t you review Lorex cameras? I think they are some of the best
I have Lorex videos. I know their battery powered ones are not that good especially in detection and as to their PoE or NVR cameras, they are fine but the thing about Lorex is that they have a lot of camera and NVR models that you need to get a specific camera for a specific NVR..now that was a while back..this might have changed.
Please stop promoting Ring, they are truly terrible compared to other companies like Tapo from their ridiculous subscriptions, to pricings to poor features in comparison to others despite being way more expensive.
I’m not promoting anything… if a camera performs, they will be on the list. Subscription is there because they are a cloud based system… like Tapo, if you want cloud recording on their cameras, you have to pay their subscription.
Can we have the chapters back please? Easier to navigate.
Maybe it’s hard to say, but how much worse are UniFi cameras compared with the established brands that are tested on the channel? And is it something you’ll actually notice in practice?
I use UniFi’s products otherwise and want to at least consider staying in their ecosystem for the cameras as well.
I did test them a long time ago and the thing about them is their price..but, I’ll try to check them out again and see.
You should try ubiquity cameras and doorbells
We just installed 3 track mix , 1 duo 3 , and 3 411 zooms.
Whilst they’re very good in day light hours , they’re not that clear at night , and worse on a colour setting.
Have increased the bit rate to max and lowered the frame rate to 20.
Tweaked a couple of other settings , but not much difference.
All in all , I’m super happy with them , and great value.
I highly recommend them for the price point ( around 1200aud ).
My recommendation for night viewing , would be to install a passive light set up with sensors to trigger it.
All in all , I’m still happy with them . 👌
Eufy E30 vs Tapo C260 which do you prefer for indoor ?
Thank you.
