I just want a doorbell that works as a doorbell when it fails. Ok, tech is great, but what if I have WiFi issues? Which one stills rings my doorbell?
@lifehckster, subscriber request! We want a video of “best wired video doorbell that can do RTSP/record on NAS or NVR (no subscription required method) in the market!
I only have tested one and probably the best one -> https://youtu.be/SME3H9PN4hI
@LifeHackster I have seen this one! Yes! But really would love to explore other options in the market. So far, no YouTube has made such a video yet. I’ve searched for hours.
Ring pro 2 will not support mesh systems that switch to 5ghz. Please keep this in mind and don’t make the same mistake I did. I purchased the ring pro 2 and it constantly goes offline, support says buy an access point that only utilizes 2.4 ghz. This is important to know!!
The false notifications you got with Nest is probably due to the flag you have close to your door? If not probably the tree branches?
Could you make a video about the best tablet for the eufy app and how to get their doorbells to bring up the doorbell video screen when someone rings them? Thanks.
Eufy is not wired, i have it and its the worst doorbell iv used
Because you have the battery version and not their wired version. They have different models.
Which doorbell do you recommend?
@LifeHackster no im talking about connection not battery. Anything that uses wi fi is awful imo ethernet cable wired is always the best option
@jonnywalker2238 i have the reolink POE which uses an internet cable for power and connection, a direct ethernet cable will always defeat wi fi the speed of connection is instant you wont regret it.
@RaviWala-qf2id There’s only a few that is not WIFI based. I use Reolink WIFI version but I use the wired ethernet connection. They also have the PoE version. Anyways, WIFI doorbells are fine as long as you have a good and solid WIFI connectivity (no interference) at your front door.
What a perfect video. Thanks for that. I noticed that with the nest system in general. The notifications are useless. I’m going back to Ring.
@danielbarakat…Thanks for watching!
I like your videos but I have to disagree with you on this one. Eufy is #1. I use to own ring products for years and recently I switched to Eufy and by far is the best decision I made on my doorbell. I have the wired version and has no issue with it at all. I like the no monthly subscription, fast notifications, and the better quality.
I honestly wouldn’t mind paying rings subscription if they made more advancements with that money vs eufy but mean while am stick to efuy just wish it was a little less glitchy at times
Google will be dropping support for nest by April, 2024. Any thoughts on whether staying with nest is still feasible or should I be looking for another brand. I currently have the original generation nest but looking to upgrade. Holding off for now
Google is not dropping support for all Nest products. They are dropping support for the Nest Secure Security System and 2 other older Nest products.
I got a Eufy for 2 years now. It is just terrible. My modem is 1 meter away from the doorbell but it sometimes takes up to 1 full minute until a live connection is established.
Big compliments for the way you make your video reviews. I like all the tests you do, and your way of explaining. Very strong review style. When i am looking for a review on youtube i always first look if you already made one, before i search further 😊. Keep up the great work!
Hi lifehacker, will u be reviewing the new eufy doorbell e340? Keen to know your thots!
Your videos are really clear and straight to the point. Thanks!
What’s new in 2024? My 6 yr old nest simply died.
@LifeHackster I am looking for a video doorbell.
I am hesitating between the Tapo D230/D235 or Eufy E340 and the Reolink doorbell.
I am particularly interested in the reaction speed, when the notifications are sent to the smartphone when movement is detected and which doorbell is the quickest to set up an video stream afterwards.
Can you tell me about your experience with this? 🙂
To have the fastest notifications, it has the be a wired doorbell. Anything battery will have a lag with the exception of Ring battery doorbells. I’m currently and have been using Reolink wired doorbell (without a snapshot preview) and notification speed is around 1-2 seconds to my phone. Load up time is also pretty quick.
How far does it pick up quality images or videos of
It
Eufy is cool but customer support is text based ..When the product breaks you are on you own .. no replacements parts from flashlight to doorbells
Has your view of the ring changed? Looking to get a new doorbell camera and one that actually works and doesnt pick up items when windy out
Can you do a video comparison pro 2 and pro 3
