10. Shirley Jones took a lot of heat for doing the Partridge Family as she was considered a “movie caliber actress” (back when they made that distinction). She responded that she needed to work in a way that still allowed her to be with her kids. Perhaps that is why this show never got past pilot, she needed a contract that allowed her to leave the set by a certain time. She had another son after this pilot (Patrick) was made . She did get the contract terms she wanted for the Partridge Family and the rest is history. As for this show, it seems to be a competitive offset to I Dream of Jeannie and Bewitched, where the classic housewife has the upper hand on her husband due to some special skill.
