The problem is some women are confusing being a provider with materialistic standards or being taken care of. As adults should be willing to come together and what that looks like is going to vary. It’s too many broken ppl out her trying to get validation through someone else
Loren does need to do some self awareness work. You can tell by some of the questions she asked Muni Long but I don’t think it’s a bad thing! It’s a normal human process.
Charlemagne, the DOTD DonkeyOf The Day for this interview. Women are not the table lol. I’m glad the Dr cleared that up. Men give themselves in relationships as well. Two whole people should come together to give 100%
The statement oppression leads to depression, impressed a lot of people, but oppression leads to many things. There is the saying “what don’t kill you, makes you strong”. There are people among us, like Cornel West, who constantly say “we are a resilient people. At the same time, many of us have accepted the idea that trauma can be passed down through our genes. Not everyone reacts the same, to the same conditions, or events they experience. We must be careful in making generalizations, especially when evidence show, that they are inconsistent/contradictory. We can be strong in some things and weak in others.
The notion of taking a holistic approach to things is old, yet we haven’t put that concept into practice. It is closely related to the old ideas of fundamentals and prerequisites. They are approaches to problem solving. Another not so old concept, is the idea of a ‘peace dividend’. It has been applied in the area of economics. It is related to the economic concept of guns vs. butter. Both ask us to consider what could be done with the funds spent on things like policing and the militaries of the nations of the world. The idea of defunding police is related to this, but those who call for it, never make the association with a peace-dividend. The question within the peace dividend that comes to my mind, but is also never discussed is – what comes first the peace or the savings/not spending money on weapons of war? It seems to me peace must come first, before not spending funds on weapons, will be considered, by many if not most.
So in essence, humanity is faced with a challenge, will we give peace a chance? If we just apply this domestically with us Americans, is not the only way police can be defunded, let alone police and prisons be abolished, is to largely make them not needed? To do this would be evolutionary, which is what humanity needs – not revolutions. They only do as the word suggest, bring back around what already existed – the need for weapons to insure it stays in tack. Need I mention the cost of them, and again, the success rate? How successful has the American Revolution been – to what cost has it come, and to who has paid the greatest cost, and to who has it been a success for? What can be more beneficial to mental, emotional, and physical health than a peaceful world? Is there really any better cure than that? If we are the highest form of life, than what should we be achieving as such? Have we really distinguished ourselves from the other life forms?
We are so egotistical, aspirational, etc., so again as a group/specie, what should we be aspiring to do and be? How and why do Abolitionists like Marc Lamont Hill call for the government to defund/abolish police and prisons, but can’t/won’t call for the public to abolish criminality and give itself a peace-dividend? Why do Abolitionists, expect more from the government, which is impersonal, than they do from the people, as we are supposed to be the government? Do the public live the values within progressive policies, we on the Left ask of government? This is where it must begin. It is a question of values, standards, and fairness, that we must focus on first, and focus on us as individuals simultaneously, as we focus on us as social units, from the family up to the level of nations and finally humanity. This is an approach for just a blueprint for our evolution. Theoretically if followed, it would solve most of the problems we face, certainly the ones we are mainly responsible for, except for the main environmental issue, which will take some time to solve, if we are fortunate or blessed with the needed time, to solve it.
