  1. After my car accident a few years ago, I had a physical therapist, and when I expressed pain in another area and asked if there was any stretching I could do for it she mentioned she’s not allowed to give other stretches until we pay for the program… terrible

  2. She did great! I never see PTs on the internet in these spaces, they should get more representation. Small nitpick as a Sports Medicine Doctor – the biggest difference between us is that a PT or DPT is a therapist – they have limited ability to practice without the instructions of a medical doctor – a sports medicine doctor IS a medical doctor, an MD or DO. So they are very different strata of training, position on the treatment team, and responsibility for outcomes. Sports doctors are frequently the ones supervising PTs

  3. If you have scoliosis, and you are told you are at the point where you need surgery, don’t think for one second physio is going to reverse your genetics. You might help slow progression, but you won’t stop it, or reverse it.

  4. I am currently a freshman in college majoring in exercise and health science, I hesitated a lot because many people said it is super hard to be a PT. I am wondering did you struggled while studying in school? And how can i evaluate if the graduate level course too dense for me? Thanks!

  5. The great debate of ice/heat. I’ve been told so many times to put ice on it and then I’m just cold with no benefit. I think it’s one of those things that’s always been said so people just keep saying it without a lot of data to back it up.

  6. Language therapists needs an space like this! The triad OT – PT – SLT is like the holy grial of rehabilitation science and are very unknown or underestimated by the general population.

  7. Chiro is a great business model – you *always* have to keep coming back, wheras DPT actually address the issue with a treatment plan. They actually want to help you; chiros want to soak you.
