It may not be the equivalent of the military honor, but it is, just like the military honor, the highest civilian honor. That is what Trump meant to say. And of course President Trump also said that the honor the woman received was better for her in that she did not have to die or be maimed like the brave soldiers. Shame on Nicole for mis-construing this and making it sound like Trump’s remarks were derogatory. All of us who served in the service knew what could happen to us, but we put our country above our individual honor, which is what Trump alluded to in Normandy, before misinformation mangled the truth of his words.
