@@Fd.777 he was born in 1915 in Pocahontas, which is in Tazewell County West Virginia. They lived mostly in Welch but also various other small communities depending on which coal mines were hiring. It is beautiful country up there. He always loved it. Up until his seventies he would take his dog and go 4 day trips back into the area. The thing that stuck most in my mind was that he and his siblings would pick up chunks of coal beside the railroad tracks that had fallen off of the coal cars and they used a lot of that for Heating. I really enjoyed your short.
