We attempted to cook an entire 10 pound pork loin on the jobsite using a wheelbarrow to hold the charcoal and a giant rotisserie spit attached to the auger on the skid steer- here’s how it turned out…
We slathered the entire pork loin in Grey Poupon mustard and sprinkled on Slap Ya MaMa seasoning.
I made this spit using some scrap pieces of pipe and some couplings- it bolts right on the auger just like a bit.
Once the pork loin was roasting – I made a glaze with some ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, a little bit of brown sugar, salt and pepper, and finally my homemade hot pepper powder – this stuff is deadly.
I dumped the glaze on the pork loin and used a mini roller to smooth it out- don’t worry the roller was brand new.
There’s no way to describe how amazing this smelled as it was cooking- the entire cab of the skid steer smelled like barbecue.
I definitely recommend using a meat thermometer if you’re gonna cook one of these- it takes all the guess work out.
We let it get up to 160 degrees in the middle and it turned out absolutely perfect.
This pork with some buttered baked potatoes was a success.
Let us know in the comments what should we cook on the jobsite next? @hausplans

The fact they can cook almost anything on the job site is just amazing
I’ve used my Sawzall to cut a bunch of frozen chicken. Girlfriend was not impressed, but I told her I used a new blade, so I didn’t see any issues. This is a prime example of how are minds are programmed. Heck a restaurant could use the same methods and we would not be able to tell the difference! I hope you boys create a lot more of these. Thinking outside the box, gentlemen, and it’s awesome.
Next idea: Steaks with mashed potatoes, and some steamed vegetables. Rebar for your grill grate… and so on.
