I counted for a few years. You become like a hunter, best rules, which small casinos and when, which pit bosses. Just know you’re playing a pretty slim % advantage not radically changing your bets. Yeah, made enough to pay for the trips and then some, but it becomes a pretty dreary job. If you’re going to try it, get so insanely proficient you can carry on conversations, order drinks, but keep the running and true counts without really looking. Oh, and teach your wife or girlfriend basic strategy until she can play it in her sleep and sit down together. And add a little fake arguing and indecision. Of course that was 30 years ago.

Card counting isn’t cheating, it’s the only way you can actually beat the house. They just call it cheating so they can keep taking your money. Stop gambling people.
