18. When you live with someone who has an accent because English is not their first language you start to speak with their accent in attempt to get them to understand you better and often times it sticks.

20. you haven’t traveled a lot if you don’t understand this thing: when you are in an environment where everyone, more or less, has the same accent, you automatically tend to assume the same accent. It is something that happens completely naturally. When I was in London they teased me for my “American” accent, because I had lived 6 years in the USA, then I had an English boyfriend and I lived between London and Rome, when I returned to America they teased me for my English accent ….It’s something you don’t plan, but it happens naturally…
