Lyrics:
I know now that I can’t make good
How I wish I could
Go back and put
Me where you stood
Nothings really something now the whole thing’s soot
It serves to suffer make a hole in my foot
And hope you look
As I fill my book
What a waste of wood
Nothing’s really happened like I thought it would
ah, ah, ah
I can’t rest on no dynasty
What is wrong with me?
Ah, I’m so sorry
I got the best of me
I really damn been on such a violent spree
But maybe you can still make a man from me
Here on Speyside quay
With what’s left of me
As you live and breathe
Really know now what had hold on me

I was hooked before the first sentence ended… Bravo Justin <3
hell yes
i love u vern 🕯️✨
15 year old me 🤝🏽 31 year old me stilling screaming Bon Iver. Happy and sad all at the same time. Life.
From the first chord, I was brought back to the cabin. That raw voice with the vibration of the strings, sending us back to a moment in time, a moment where we felt it all. A true and honest redemption, if anything. Thank you Justin.
Ohh how we missed you
its a good day when bon iver comes out with new music

He just understands what music does to people on a deeper level
Always think of my wife listening to Bon Iver. Doesn’t matter which… it’s like her musical perfume in my brain I guess.
Genius.

Sounds like something that would have fit on Deyarmond Edison’s “Silent Signs.” Maybe Vernon has been listening to Epoch as much as the rest of us.
At the time he released “Bon Iver, Bon Iver”, I was having a hard time falling asleep. For 3 years, I played that album every single night. Even if I was at someone else’s place, I would play on my phone and put it under my pillow.
amazing
i love you so much
Gorgeous and poignant, lovely harmonic structure bringing a new glint to familiar turns. Beautiful prickly and percussive guitar articulations joined wonderfully with smooth and subtle strings (once again proving that less is more). Clear and direct lyrics with less obscurity than previous songs of his while still inviting in deep imagination- a honed touch. So excited for the album. Thank you, Justin.
