In this video essay I explore the troubled history behind MGM’s 2014 failed Robocop remake. We look at the aftermath, why it failed, and I offer up some of my personal thoughts on the project.

One movie was a satirical farcical Sci Fi gore packed action funfest. The other… was not.
its simple they missed the mark . robocop was a satire . this movie took its self too serious
Even when I was like 9, I knew this movie was just painfully mid, and it even made me think the original was mid, so I spent years missing out on Robocop because I’m an idiot who watched a stupid movie
I really enjoyed it for what it was. Couldve been better. Wouldve liked to see Joel reprise the role of Robocop. Overall i still enjoy the whole Robocop series.
More Hollywood bs. Come up with something new. Stop remaking movies that dont need to be remade, or come up with your own idea
Nah I liked it
I think an R rating would have made it better but I do like the plot of examining the psychological issues that Robocop went through due to his creation was really good.
Creativity requires new ideas.
It’s one of my favourite guilty pleasure movies
I thought it was fine. Nothing can reach the original masterpiece. Also being PG did not help. My son had fun watching it though
