Ariana Grande Recalls Being Bullied For ‘Always Singing’ Before She Was Famous

Ariana Grande is revealing she was made fun of for her music before becoming a pop star. The “Wicked” actress appeared on the Nov. 1 episode of the “Sentimental Men Podcast” and recalled how some people questioned whether she would make it in the music industry. “I’ve never really talked about it, but when I was younger some people actually, like, lightly bullied me about it and were like, ‘Ugh, you’re always singing,’” she said. Grande also explained why she felt she had to work a little harder to show a different side of herself while auditioning to play Glinda in “Wicked” because she is so well known for her pop persona. Plus, Grande reveals Broadway’s original Glinda Kristin Chenoweth’s reaction when she first learned the 31-year-old wanted the role. “She went into the bathroom and, like, closed the door and started crying,” she said.
