GBP: That first vendor you visited had the goodies! Regarding the M2 “jungle” first aid kit you got, the pouches were made by several makers from 1943-45. They typically had a bottle of insect repellent, iodine, “Frazier’s Solution”, and a brown pill bottle for atabrine tablets (anti-malarial). There were also a few bandage packets as well. A paper packet of “wound tablets” was also present. Finding them and the bottle of Frazier’s in any kit doubles the value. Those pouches were used right up to the Vietnam war, but most of the contents were changed from the time of the Korean War. BTW, you ought to have asked about the USGI, WW2 black plastic handled mess kit knife. Nice ones are worth at least $25.00.
