Discover the remarkable life of John Moses Browning with host Fess Parker as he spans three generations of the Browning family to tell this fascinating story. With over 100 firearms patents to his credit, Browning’s inventive genius spanned six decades and included many legendary pistol, rifle and shotgun designs for Winchester, Remington, Colt, Fabrique Nationle and others. The Browning name is still synonymous with the automatic pistols, rifles, machine guns and cannons used by the United States and her allies through all of the major world conflicts of the last century, and several Browning designs continue to defend freedom around the globe today.

Browning was a gifted man. Just take a look at what he designed in terms of ammo, rifles, shotguns, pistols and machine guns. Many of which are still in use today, over 100 years later. His automatic pistol telescopic bolt is used by every manufacturer of automatic handguns today. Incredible!
One of my ancestors, Eugene (Gus) Reising worked side by side with John Browning in the development of the 1911 Colt 45. He went on to found his own company Reising Arms. A 22 caliber target pistol called the Reising Bear and during WWII the Reising sub machine gun what was not well received by the Marines. It was more commonly used by those behind the front lines for guard duty status. The New Jersey State Police used it as a backup weapon until 1968.
Absolutely amazing!
