DI Max Arnold’s lifestyle on a battered houseboat in Chelsea’s Cheyne Walk contrasts sharply with the affluent elite whose crimes he helps solve alongside partner D.C. Priya Shamsie. This British mystery stars Adrian Scarborough and Sonita Henry, and was created and co-written by Peter Fincham, the man who originally greenlit Downton Abbey for ITV. Great show!
I really wanted to enjoy this, great location, great supporting cast….but in both series the 2 main characters just didn’t work well together and the main detective was so slow, it was like watching paint dry. The relationship between him and separated wife was totally unnecessary but was there to show why he was so hip and quirky that he lived on a houseboat, which was shown to be filmed on a studio set every time they opened the door. And the plots were so convoluted, as if they were trying to outdo Agatha Christie.
Dreadful continuity. South Kensington tube. Rubbish. It’s Charing Cross. South Kensington is a blue and Cream logo of the Piccadilly line. This is clearly the Jubilee line brown and orange/gold of the 1979.
Is he Northern?
