The acclaimed British mystery returns with its three final episodes, set amid the pressure and politics of the Cold War. Michael Kitchen (Out of Africa) stars as the enigmatic detective chief inspector Christopher Foyle.
I just watched part 1 of the episode where an African American GI and a local British girl fall in love and have a child as the central theme. During the episode an American Soldier in charge of a mixed race company, encourages the local Pubs to segregate their establishments.
Mr. Doyle states in an extremely self righteous tone, “We don’t practice segregation.”
I’m amazed the writers have the gall to write such a hypocritical statement!
The racist history of the British in India, China and Africa, the millions of Irish people who starved so the British landowners could retain their profits. The people of Wales and Scotland who were forbidden and punished for speaking their native language.
All of the pain, suffering and oppression perpetrated by the British is well documented.
Every culture has its problems and the USA has recognized and accepted responsibility for the deplorable Jim Crow era. The US government has and continues to attempt to correct the sins of ourselves and our forefathers.
I have read the British have room for improvement when it comes to true equality in in your Kingdom. “Mr. Foyle” should climb down from his Ivory Tower.
I’ve seen each episode at least twice, that’s how much I enjoy this series.
What about viewing all 9 seasons on internet? Any source? on Foyles war
