1. I think another nominee on this list could be 2000’s Chinese WWII film, “Devils on the Doorstep”. Definitely worth a watch…. once.

9. Glad they had Come and See in the list at the end. It’s one of the most horrifying movies I’ve ever seen, considering the plotline probably really did happen to hundreds if not thousands of people in WW2

10. The small girl in The Seventh Continent is the German voice actress of Sailor Moon.

11. How could One Who Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest not make this list? It’s not painful in the sense that it’s gory or shocking, but the ending of that film, whilst amazing, is so emotionally exhausting that I just can’t sit through that movie again knowing what fate awaits the main character. It’s an incredible piece of cinema but it’s too hard to watch again.
