LIVE: LA Wildfire in California, Palisades evacuated, Eaton fire, Pasadena homes burn, news updates 5

CALIFORNIA FIRE: Wildfires broke out in Southern California on Tuesday morning, threatening homes and forcing evacuations near the PCH on the Pacific ocean, Santa Monica beach and the surrounding areas. Homes and areas around the Pacific Palisades, Will Rogers State Beach, Brentwood, Canyon Park, Topanga State Park, Westwood, UCLA campus and the Hollywood Hills are in the immediate area. The fires around the Pasadena area are being called the “Eaton fire”.

LA CITY PUBLIC ALERT:

Issued by the Los Angeles City Fire Department: Evacuation order for the Palisades Fire. Evacuation Center located at Westwood Recreation Center. People in the area of Palisades need to evacuate now due to a rapidly moving wildfire. Pack all people and pets into your vehicle and leave the area immediately. If you are not in the mandatory evacuation zone, stay off the roads to allow first responders and evacuees to move quickly. More information, including a map, can be found at www.lafd.org/alerts
