The door bell itself opens the circuit when it’s not pressed. When the circuit is closed, (by pushing the door bell) it makes the ring. You either have a bed door bell or something is wired wrong.
@ApartmentMaintenancePro We got the ring door bell to work but the existing door chime doesn’t ring now. Is it because the door chime was put in when the house was built in the 70s?
I forgot to put the power pack kit on the chime. The doorbell is already installed. Seems like I have enough power going to it just fine but if I wanted to can I install it NOW? Or do I need to uninstall the Ring doorbell and basically start over?
I have a question for you. I bought the ring chime, but I don’t want to use my old, ugly chime box no more can I just cap the white and black wires and use the two low-voltage wires and connect them to the bypass ring hardware and then use a blank plate to seal it? Would that work? I simply just need the chime from the ring chime and I don’t want the ugly chime box no more.
2:10 You can never have too much wire if you have a place to hide it. I would have shoved the excess wire into the hole instead of cutting it. Otherwise this was a great , to the point video.
Before attempting the install, you need to make sure you have the proper transformer! It should be 16V AC at 30 VA. Home Depot carries them. Don’t waste your time at Lowe’s.
Thank you Mark Ruffalo!
Will 16v 30 amp transformer work with this?
instruction is too fast and lack of clarity.
Does this let you still hear the house chime. Or does it not use the house door chime
I didn’t know Trevor Philips is doing tutorials on YouTube but here we are. Thanks Trevor
Omfgggggg 😂😂😂😂
When I installed it, the doorbell chime kept going non stop. Does anyone know what could be the issue?

Great video
Just ordered this camera with the chime as a replacement, glad the angle bracket was included
can same chime be used to install a second power kit for to connect another doorbell? thanks
Anyone know why chime has to be bypassed.
My chime isn’t wired, does that mean I should install the power supply right on the transformer?
