Well now I want an MP3 player with this attached.
This seems like the cheapest solution for areas like mine. I live on a mountain we have no cell service for like 8 miles[drive not as the crow flies] till the bottom of the mountain if the town could get a handful of these devices and connect them at a power pole with a solar panel to power them, we would be able to communicate with neghibors and first responders when we inevitably lose power in storms.
Imagine a whole network built around signals that can be jammed with off-the-shelf walkie talkies, supported by elderly people who believe civilization will collapse, and you get this nonsense.
This is the first step to decentralized internet
