I wanted to share an idea for *Black Panther 3* or *Black Panther 4* that I think could be incredible, especially if Damson Idris were cast as T’Challa Jr.
Damson Idris is 32 years old, 6’1″, and of Nigerian descent—he’d be a perfect fit to play T’Challa Jr. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His recent performance in *Snowfall* shows he has the intensity and emotional range needed for such a role. Additionally, there’s an interesting coincidence here: Damson’s *Snowfall* character, Franklin Saint, was born and raised in South Los Angeles, while Michael B. Jordan’s Erik “Killmonger” Stevens was born and raised in Oakland, California. “Coincidence?” (in the words of the teacher from *The Incredibles*) “I think not!” #MarvelGotMoney
Imagine if some of the brilliant writers and directors from *Snowfall* collaborated with Ryan Coogler and the Marvel team. It could add new layers to T’Challa’s storyline and bring fresh perspectives to his character.
In terms of storyline, Damson could truly capture the complex emotions of T’Challa Jr.—a young man dealing with the loss of his father and being raised by his mother. It could follow a theme similar to *The Lion King* but with a unique Marvel twist.
*Black Panther: Wakanda Forever* introduced us to T’Challa and Nakia’s son, Toussaint, who has been raised in secret, setting the stage for his development. If Michael B. Jordan’s Killmonger is brought back from the Ancestral Plane, it would be powerful to see T’Challa Jr. encounter him. The Ancestral Plane is where past Wakandan rulers’ spirits reside, allowing the living to seek their guidance through the heart-shaped herb. When Shuri went under to connect with her ancestors, hoping to see her mother, she instead saw Killmonger. A similar encounter between T’Challa Jr. and Killmonger could be symbolic, bridging past conflicts and offering T’Challa Jr. wisdom as he steps into his role.
Additionally, just imagine if characters like Leon, Louie, Uncle Jerome, Teddy, Gustavo, and Cissy from *Snowfall* could be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They could bring a fresh, unique dynamic to the MCU, attracting a new audience.
Ryan Coogler has previously compared T’Challa and Killmonger to Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. Continuing this narrative with T’Challa Jr. and Killmonger could explore themes of nobility, understanding loss, being for the people, becoming a symbol, and taking action. Damson’s portrayal of T’Challa Jr. (a parallel to MLK Jr.) would be an excellent fit for this storyline.
This could also be the perfect time to introduce mutants into the MCU. Casting Chloe Bailey as Storm would be a great choice, especially since she and Damson worked together on *Swarm*. In the comics, Storm and T’Challa have children, and adding Denzel Washington as the Panther Goddess Bast—either as a voice or in an astral/human form in the Ancestral Plane—could add even more depth to the story.
Thanks for considering this idea! I’m excited about the potential future of T’Challa Jr. and the Black Panther legacy
In the words of the late Chadwick Boseman, “There is NO Black Panther without Denzel Washington”.
Let’s start a petition! Marvel Studios , Walt Disney Studios and Ryan Coogler

Hopefully the 3rd film will ignore the events of Wakanda Forever.
Is Denzel retiring because he actually wants to or is it a cop out to avoid being canceled if he is brought up in Diddy case? The timing just seems uncanny
