  1. I was 19 years old and had gone to college boarding. t was evening in Pakistan where I was watching TV in hostel common room when I saw footage of plane hitting the World Trade Centre. The next memory I have is of loud explosion sounds on October 8, 2001 morning when I had woken up in a hotel room during college trip in Nathia Gali that is approximately 70 KM from Afghan border. Those sounds were probably of US jets bombing. Deep down, I always wanted to go to USA but next few years passed in disbelief that there were restrictions for Muslims. It changed the path of my life. USA was my calling and I couldn’t make it. Surprising that how an event of this magnitude can impact the individual lives.
