The Nelons gospel group members Jason Clark, Kelly Nelon Clark and their daughter, Amber Nelon Kistler, have died following a plane crash. The family members died on Friday while traveling to their annual Gaither Homecoming Alaska Cruise, the Gaither Management Group confirming the sad news on Facebook. Jason and Kelly’s other daughter, Autumn Nelon Streetman, who’s the fourth member of the music group, was not on board.

Condolences to the family and friends of these talented ones. Sometimes seeds are planted with death. Those seeds bear fruit for years. I am reminded of a similar death of gospel singer Keith Green, two of his small children and friends of his in the early 1980s. Their children died also. He was only 28 years old but a powerhouse for the gospel who could have followed in Rev. Billy Graham’s footsteps. May the home going of these fine folks be a beginning of many planted seeds of faith. Keith’s widow Melanie and their surviving children continue to carry on his legacy. May the survivors of the Nelon team find a way to rejoice during these hard times of grief. Love in Christ never dies.
